How To Use CBD For Anxiety

If you experience regular moderate to severe anxiety, chances are good that you have already heard all about CBD. There is no doubt that anxiety can be a downright debilitating mental and emotional issue to deal with, and the crazy thing is that it is not rare at all.

In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that about one in 13 people around the world lives with anxiety disorders! Sadly, anxiety can be a hard thing to treat for many people. That is especially true if you do not want to depend on pharmaceutical chemicals to manage your anxiety. While quick-acting drugs like Xanax and Valium certainly help manage anxiety, they also come with some unwanted side effects and can be habit-forming.

Luckily, there are some incredibly effective ways to naturally reduce and manage your anxiety. On top of making you Luckily, there are some incredibly effective ways to naturally reduce and manage your anxiety. On top of making you get enough sleep, drinking enough water, exercising enough, and managing the causes for your anxiety in a healthy way is the use of CBD. Whether you’re vaping CBD, using a CBD tincture, or consuming it some other way, you’ve got a lot of options to choose from a vape store in the UK.

But what is CBD, how can it help you manage your anxiety and what are the different modes in which you can consume it? Luckily, you have come to the play where we will answer all of that and more.

Let’s get started!

What is CBD?

Before we get into CBD and anxiety, let’s quickly down what CBD is in just a couple of sentences. Basically, CBD is a naturally occurring compound that is found in the cannabis plant. While CBD is closely related to THC, the compound known for offering the classic “high” that comes with ingesting cannabis, CBD does not offer that high. What it does offer, however, is many health benefits thanks to the way that it interacts with certain receptors in the brain. Overall, CBD is known to positively impact:

  • Anxiety
  • Inflammation
  • Insomnia
  • Epilepsy
  • And more!

CBD and anxiety

Over the last decade or so, clinical research related to CBD as a treatment for anxiety disorder has become incredibly popular and revealing. Ultimately, there is an ever-growing amount of evidence that points to the fact that CBD does indeed hold major therapeutic potential for treating anxiety and other mental disorders such as depression, insomnia, and more.

To date, the majority of CBD clinical studies have been done on animal models. With that being said, clinical trials done on human patients are indeed becoming more popular.

In fact, just in 2019, a double-blind study that included 37 Japanese teenagers with a social anxiety disorder (SAD) were given 300 mg of CBD oil or a placebo every day for a month. The teens that were administered the CBD saw reduced symptoms aligned with the disorder in line with the drug Paroxetine.

In another 2019 case study, outpatients at a mental health clinic were administered 25 mg of CBD daily on top of additional treatment. After the first monthly assessment, nearly 80 percent of the patients experienced an improvement in their anxiety disorder. After two months, 78 percent of patients reporter a further improvement on top of the first month!

As you can see, there is mounting evidence regarding the effectiveness of CBD in treating anxiety. Without a doubt, more research has to be done, but early indications are incredibly promising.

How to consume CBD for anxiety

There are a lot of different ways to consume CBD, and while they all get CBD into your body, they do tend to have somewhat different effects on the body. For that reason, let’s quickly break down the top ways to consume CBD for you!

CBD tinctures and oil

CBD tinctures and oils offer you a quick, easy, and – perhaps most importantly – accurate way to consume CBD. Most tinctures will contain CBD in an alcohol base, while CBD oils will contain CBD extracts infused into a carrier oil such as hemp seed or coconut oil. From there, the tinctures will include a dropper, with which you can easily and accurately measure the intake.

CBD vape oils

Just like THC, CBD can also be vaped in a special pen that vaporizes the oil so that you can inhale it. With that being said, it is unclear just how safe vaping is for your lungs. There are some that believe vaping should be avoided due to the lung condition known as VAPI or EVALI, which has hospitalized more than 2,000 people over the last couple of years.

Still, if you are looking for a quick and easy way to consume CBD, vaping is a popular option.

Edibles

One final great way to consume CBD is to get foods – typically tasty gummies – that have been infused with CBD. Just make sure that you know how much CBD is in each gummy so you can enjoy the intended effect of the CBD.
