Small heart: Is it fatal?

Have you heard about Small heart? If not then this article will help you to know more about it. It will also help you to know if it is fatal or not.

What is a small heart?

A small heart is also known as small heart syndrome. On a chest X-ray or magnetic resonance imagining it resembles a small heart shadow. In 1944 it was termed as neurocirculatory asthenia.” Left ventricular chamber size is reduced to a smaller size and cardiac stroke is reduced in comparison to normal volume relations with a small heart that has been revealed by the current studies.

Many of these symptoms mimic symptoms in CFS patients. It may be fatal if it is not treated in time as it can exacerbate other diseases as well and lead to be fatal to one’s health.

Small heart syndrome is known as ‘microcardia’ whose association on the chest’s roentgenogram is seen as a small heart shadow and, also after moderate exercise, palpitations, or disorders are characterized by weakness or exhaustion. Many of these symptoms mimic symptoms in CFS patients.

What causes small heart?

An experiment which had taken place showed the cause of small heart:

  • The study was conducted in 42 CFS patients who were less than 40 years of age.
  • In the study of chest roentgenograms and echocardiograms, a cardiovascular ratio of cardiovascular size and function were determined.
  • Chest x-ray picture of 26 (62 per cent) Small Heart patients with CFS were taken
  • During echocardiogram studies of CFS patients with ‘small heart’ and 20 control objects, the mean values of final diastolic and end-systemic time, stroke volume indexes, and heart indexes have decreased significantly.
  • Therefore, in contrast with the exacerbation of ten small cardiac CFS patients during long follow up, the “small cardiac” patient has a small L V chamber and Cardiothoracic insufficiency. During remission, both echocardiographic and cardiothoracic ratios were greatly improved.

Symptoms of Small heart:

Let’s find out the symptoms of small heart. It was found that the small-heart patients were often diagnosed with straight and reduced anteroposterior diameters in their spines and necks.

However, their symptoms usually arise during youth and doctors often consult for the Siguiente symptoms:

  • There is the presence of chest pain, tension, and irritation (angina) which can intensify during day-to-day work or during stressful periods.
  • There is the inconvenience of chest pain in your left arm, chin, throat, back, or belly
  • The person might feel shortening of breath.
  • The person feels Fatigue and an energy deficit

Risk factors of small heart

Microcardia or small hearts what are the factors which can cause it? Let’s find out what are the risk factors of small heart.

In women, small cardiovascular diseases are more common. Microcardia risk factors include:

  • Smoking Habits
  • High Cholesterol levels
  • The high blood pressure
  • Diabetes
  • unhealthy foods
  • Lifestyle Inactivity
  • Deficiency of estrogen in women
  • polycystic ovarian disease
  • Young age, under 40 in males and under 55 in females
  • chronic inflammation

Complications of microcardia

The heart is a vital organ. It has the responsibility to pump the oxygenated blood to all the organs and tissue of the body. If there are problems in the heart it can arise various complications. As small heart sizes can make it more difficult for the heart to pump blood to all part of the body, severe complications can occur, for example:

  • coronary artery spasm
  • Heart attack
  • Heart failure in congestion

How to Strengthen a Small heart?

If you have a small heart then don’t stress out cause there are ways to strengthen a small heart. Lets look into ways to strengthen small heart. Here are 7 ways to strengthen your small heart:

1. Exercise

Your heart is made of muscle and exercise, like any other muscle, strengthens it. This strengthens the human body entirely along with the heart.

2. Quit smoking

It’s difficult to quit smoking. But you know it is necessary to avoid, and one of the key reasons it is related to cardiovascular disease.

3. Weight loss

Weight loss is more than just eating and workout. It’s a personal journey, where you can discover what you want and what works for you.

4. Eat healthy

Diet also plays an important role in the wellbeing. Eat foods that are made of good heart-friendly fats such as:

  • Whole Grains
  • Berries
  • Chicken
  • Fish oil
  • Walnuts
  • Beans

Also look for the benefits of Vitamin E oil

5.Chocolate

We have some good news and some bad news regarding chocolate.

The good news: Heart well-being is helped by chocolate and wine.

The bad news:  It helps only in moderation

Alcohol and cocoa (the main component in chocolate) have antioxidants that indicate that good cholesterol is increased, bad cholesterol is decreased and the role in blood coagulation is strengthened as well as the small heart.

6. Control your eating

While this advice applies more during the holidays, it is true all year round as deaths from heart attacks rise due to a wealth of food and temptation.

Instant intake contributes to a lot of food:

  • Blood passing into the digestive system from the heart
  • Faster and uneven rhythms of the small heart which can lead to a heart attack or failure of heart

7. Be stress free

About 1,400 biochemical stress responses include an increase in blood pressure and a faster rhythm of the heart. It will cause more stress and trap you in a stress loop if you do not control your stress.  The another key factor in strengthening a small heart is stress release. Be stress-free and you will be disease free too.

When to see a doctor

If you suffer from chest pain and other symptoms, for example, shortness of breath, sweat, nausea, dizziness, or pain that can be extended beyond your body to both your head and necks then you must seek medical attention as soon as possible.

It can be hard to know, particularly when you do not have chest pain, whether your symptoms are due to a small heart or a small vessel disease. See your doctor for the cause if you have any pain in your chest.

If you have any chest pain don’t dismiss it thinking it just as a pain as it might be linked to various symptoms of disease small heart being one of them.

Coronary microvascular disease (MVD)

Coronary microvascular disease is also known as small artery disease or small vessel disease. It is a heart disease that affects the endothelium of coronary artery blood vessels that are tiny and which is a branch formed from the larger coronary arteries. This results in the decrease of the amount and the flow of blood that goes to supply the heart muscle which will lead to chest pain also called angina. This condition is also referred to as micro-vessel disease or small vessel heart disease or small heart.

Women are found to have developed this disease too often and it occu.rs more in younger women. In both men and women if they have diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes, or cardiomyopathy then this disease can occur to them.

Diagnosing this disease has been a difficult quest for doctors. The tests which are used to diagnose coronary heart disease cannot be used to investigate this disease. Due to which more research on it is needed to find the best diagnostic tests and treatments for the disease.

Conclusion:

Small heart disease (microcardia) may not see very deadly at first, but it has major effects on your body as we have discussed. Don’t ignore chest pain as it is linked to various symptoms of disease small heart being one of them.

If you feel like you have any if the symptoms above, contact your nearest hospital IMMEDIATELY and have your condition diagnosed even if it is a small heart. Once diagnosed, your doctor can supply you with the necessary treatment/medication needed to help cure it.
